REDDING, Calif.–Simpson University will host pro angler Jimmy Reese on campus Oct. 19 for a BBQ event showcasing the university’s new bass fishing team. All are welcome to attend and meet Reese, as well as coach Alex Thielmann and the team, which recently competed in its first college tournament.
The 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. event will be outside the dining center, with parking in the gym lot off Shasta View Drive. Logan’s Roadhouse will provide complementary BBQ. Attendees have a chance to win an overnight stay and a day fishing with Jimmy Reese on Clearlake.

Simpson University, founded in 1921, moved to Redding 30 years ago and will celebrate its centennial in 2021.
