Simpson University is pleased to announce the hire of Tom Seitz as director of athletics. Seitz brings more than 25 years of experience as a collegiate player, coach, administrator and commissioner. He has served as the athletic director and/or coach for colleges and universities competing in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, II and III levels.

Simpson University’s baseball team is hosting a fundraiser dinner and live and silent auction on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Gold Hills Golf Club in Redding. The night will feature guest speaker Major League Baseball player Michael Lorenzen, a pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds.

Simpson University Athletics will host a First Responders Day at an April 13 baseball game in honor of Redding firefighter Jeremy Stoke, who lost his life during the Carr Fire in July.
Simpson University to Add Swimming and Diving, Men’s Volleyball
Simpson University Director of Athletics Tom Galbraith announced this week the addition of men’s and women’s varsity swimming and diving as the 15th and 16th varsity sports for the Red Hawks. Galbraith also announced the return of men’s volleyball as a varsity sport, making it the 17th offering for the Red Hawks.
