Simpson University will host the Redding Breakfast Lions Club’s 25th annual boys and girls high school All-Star basketball games on Sunday, March 29. The university is located at 2211 College View Drive. Athletes from throughout far Northern California will participate under the guidance of four volunteer coaches. Girls play at 4 p.m.; boys play at 6. Admission is a $7 donation, and children under 8 are free.

Simpson University 10th Annual Student Research Symposium to Feature ‘Live’ Painting
REDDING, Calif.—Celebrating a decade of showcasing student academic excellence, Simpson University invites the community to participate in its 10th annual Student Research Symposium, which will feature a daylong “live” painting by artist Hyatt Moore. The symposium on Wednesday, March 11, is modeled after professional academic symposiums and will feature more than 40 presentations and posters by more than 60 undergraduate and graduate students on topics from multiple disciplines. Visitors are welcome to sit in on thought-provoking presentations and participate in Q&As throughout the day.

SR-71 Blackbird pilot Brian Shul, a retired major in the U.S. Air Force who was shot down during the Vietnam War, will be the speaker at Simpson University’s 18th Business Leadership Luncheon on Tuesday, March 3. The event, sponsored by Merchant's Bank of Commerce, will be in the James M. Grant Student Life Center on campus, 2211 College View Drive. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.; the event begins at noon. Simpson University Invites Community to Army National Guard Event
Simpson University invites the North State to an Army National Guard informational event and giveaway on Thursday, Jan. 16, in conjunction with women’s and men’s basketball games. The 5 to 8:30 p.m. event at the James M. Grant Student Life Center will kick off a partnership between the university and Army National Guard, launching a program whereby students can continue their college education while becoming part of the Guard.
